Broker Dealer Market helps
clients achieve their visions, by assisting in every aspect of buying, selling and merging
their broker dealers. This can be a complicated process. Not only are the standard
elements of business acquisition involved, but there is a significant regulatory burden as
well; a burden that even the most experienced attorneys find cumbersome. Broker Dealer
Market endeavors to make the buy sell merge process as transparent as possible, and to
help clients achieve their dreams in a straightforward and simple way.
Our Staff
Over the years, Broker Dealer Market has
established a large roster of experts in their respective specializations. Our experts
have all demonstrated superior abilities, and stand ready to assist clients with their
specific needs. Mark Harris is the President
& CEO. Industry relationships have allowed the company to significantly expand
operations in the small to Mid Market vertical, both in the US and overseas. Currently,
Broker Dealer Market has representatives in most FINRA districts in the United States,
and we are developing a limited European and Asian presence.

Our Future
Dr. John McGrath, Founder of
Broker Dealer Market, had spent years building and running his securities industry exam
preparatory school. Johns unique program, which dissected, distilled and taught the
skill set required by responsible investment reps, claimed it could train anyone to be a
broker in 72 hours. It was a success. With an average exam pass rate of 92%, his
school grew, over time, to develop successful operations for students in a dozen
countries. After training some 40,000 Brokers, Principals, FinOps, CROPs, etc., as
well as training Bankers and Brokers for the London LIFFE Exchange, John decided to sell
the school and retire, which he did
For a while.
In October of 1987, John began
to receive calls from some of his former students. Several asked John if he knew of
any clean brokerages for sale. Others were eager to leave the business - asking if he knew
of anyone who wanted to purchase a clean, profitable BD. John put them together, and acted
as an impartial intermediary. His consummate knowledge of the regulatory process helped
create a quick, seamless transition. From that moment forward, his phone began to
ring with similar requests. Word of mouth spread, and eventually he decided he liked the
process so much, that he opened Broker Dealer Market. Over the past
twenty years, Broker
Dealer Market has grown to become the preeminent firm assisting buyers and sellers of
small-to-large sized BDs, facilitating thousands of transactions. The business had
developed with Johns unique style: keep it simple and straightforward. John
dissected and distilled many of the regulatory hurdles that buyers and sellers of broker
dealers face, and has created simple, uniquely effective processes for dealing with all
aspects of the Buy, Sell and Merge process, in an efficient and straightforward manner.
Today, the firm is recognized for its ability to assist management to complete
transactions in an efficient, prompt, and often seamless fashion; initiating and
completing the process in a very short timeframe; done correctly the first time.
Over the years, the firm has
grown to service the special needs of the buy, sell, and merge community; the need for
various experts, with various licenses, to assist in all aspects of brokerage operations.
In the last several years, Dr. McGrath has expanded Broker Dealer Markets business,
assisting in reverse mergers into public companies, private placements, public stock
loans, roll-ups, etc. Broker Dealer Market has developed a huge expert talent roster of
diverse ability.
